DOMAIN FOUR: PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

4b Maintaining Accurate Records

I maintain accurate records on my students through Power School which is an online gradebook. Grades are up-to-date weekly and made available as a hardcopy to students every Monday. I also provide students with a copy of any assignments they may owe. These records are stapled into students assignment books for parents who don't have internet. For parents who do have internet, they have complete access to student's assignments, grades on each assignment and grades for each subject. In addition, I categorize assignments, so if a student is deficit in a particular skill or type of assignment it is evident.

Other records maintained include benchmark tests in math and reading. I keep these in an excel file, and I produce graphs and charts to compare student progress., I also keep track of students' independent reading using accelerated reader and printouts of student progress. Other programs I use to monitor student progress are Spelling City for spelling and vocabulary, Aimsweb for reading fluency and comprehension, Aimsweb for math concepts, Study Island for Math and Reading concepts.

Due to the private nature of the records, I cannot include examples.
