Portfolio of Jan Abernethy

My name is Jan Abernethy and I am a fifth grade educator in the Greenville School District in Pennsylvania. I have created this website to show how my teaching in the past year (2013/2014) applies to the four domains of Charlotte Danielson's, "Framework for Teaching Evaluation Instrument."

 

My students this year named themselves the Fantastic Ferrets, and I did my best to arm them with the tools for the twenty-first century. Often my students were so focused on changing the world, they didn't realize they were learning. Everyday we strived to treat everybody like it was their birthday, to find ways to make the world a better place and to be more awesome (all lessons we learned from Kid President our class hero.)
